Great Scott! BrewDog, the disruptive Scottish brewery, proudly opened the doors to their first brewpub in Seoul. Featuring a freshly imported batch of their flagship beers, including their Punk IPA, as well as some less common beers and guest beers from Korean breweries. Welcome to Itaewon, BrewDog!
A classic cinema light box with the BrewDog beers and the guest draft lineup. Brewdogs most famous beer, the Punk IPA, tops their lineup of 13 beers, flanked by some guest beers from Amazing, Wild Wave, Brew 304, Trevier, Magpie and Heretic (not Korean). Some small batch beers will also be brewed here at the BrewDog Itaewon Outpost, whose brewing equipment can be seen in the back of the venue. There’s a chalkboard under the curiously phrased “What’s in tank” neon sign, where we expect to see some small batch names and info in the future.
The venue itself is open and industrial, with many seating groups including high tables, booths and a counter. With concrete floors, rough details and exposed details of the original bearing construction BrewDog joins the ranks of the many industrial looking craft beer pubs in Seoul. Generally dim lights, a few neon signs and a mostly dark and open interior makes for a social and casual atmosphere where the two main elements are people and beer. Of course, this is Itaewon so you can expect a huge and diverse crowd, but with a venue this roomy you may get a seat even on a Saturday night.
