Beer + pizza = Beezza, and this venue in Yeonnam offers one of Seoul’s better selections of craft beer and craft pizza under the same roof. A proper stone oven, great selection of food and drinks and a cozy venue fit for both small and large groups and in a key location between several popular areas.
This place is all about beer and pizza, and have a healthy selection of both. Most of the beers on tap are Korean, with a few foreign beers in the mix. Brew One, Ka-Brew and The Hand and Malt cover most of the menu, but we also have a few from PLayground, Amazing and The Booth. If you have a hard time choosing, you can also get a sampler set of the ones you would like to try.
The beer styles range from weizens and pilsners to IPAs and saisons, so most people will find something they like, you can even match different drinks to different pizzas. Some of the more noteworthy beers will be the Flower Power pilsner from Hand and Malt and the Brew One Yeonnam Amber Ale, both interesting and unique choices, but in general the selection is good and diverse and the prices are fair.
The pizza is not as strict as authentic (conservative) Italian restaurants, but nothing near as crazy as Korean pizzerias, not to mention the ungodly Swedish pizzas. No, the menu at Beezza includes classic styles like pepperoni and quattro formaggi, with a few interesting choices like garlic gorgonzola and spring spinach pesto. The pizzas are not that big, which means even smaller groups can get a few different styles to share.
Even though the venue is a little small, the space is well utilized with groups of seating for both small and large groups and a long counter proudly showing the stone oven and row of taps. The location near the quiet end of Yeonnam park gives you plenty of options for your next stop of the night. You can go to Yeonnam park and pick some take-out beers for sitting in the park or walk a little further down the park to get to Hongdae. Just a few minutes walk north-east and you’ll get to Yeonhui-dong.
