You may have heard about tap takeovers, but what about taking over a whole park? Jeju Beer Company spares no expense and hosts a festival-sized pop up store in the Yeonnam park, with several other venues joining in on promoting their brand and flagship beer – Jeju Wit Ale!
The long park in Yeonnamdong saw construction finishing just a few years ago, and has since become an extremely popular spot for picnics, walks and hanging out. Being right next to both Hongdae, and not far from Sinchon, two of the arguably hottest areas in Seoul, it’s no wonder this park is a lively stretch both day and night. We originally came to do a post about the bottle shops found at the Hongdae end of the park, and could not help but notice the whole park flooded with seafoam green picnic sets, banners and cans.
The Jeju Wit Ale has been available in Seoul for a little while now, but their marketing team has obviously convinced the investors to make sure everyone knows they are here. Backed by the big player Brooklyn Brewery, with similar sister breweries as far away as in Norway and Sweden, Jeju Beer Company is obviously ambitions. Curiously enough, all of this is spent on promoting one single beer style!
The beer itself is a balanced and citrusy fresh Wit, a little on the sweet side with a bready body and malty aftertaste. Not a bad beer by any means, and fits well with the sea foam green color and the summery surf’s up-theme that the brewery pushes.
