Right next to the Daehung part of the long park winding along the old railway from Hyochang to Yeonnamdong, Beer8 has a selection of domestic beer available for take-out in small plastic cups or larger bottles. A perfect place to pick up beers if you are planning to enjoy an evening in the park!
Beer 8 has a few seats inside, but taking out the beer to enjoy in the nearby park or elsewhere is the core of the concept. Beers are available to take out in smaller plastic cups (340 ml) or larger bottles (800 ml), and you can even get a little taste to help decide which beers to chose. Only Korean beer is available on tap, including Craft Root, Magpie and Whazoo, and is sure to be rotated from time to time.
You can also pick up bottles from the fridge, where you can also find some imported beers, like Goose Island and Ayinger. Our favorite from the time of our visit is probably the Snow IPA from Craft Root, which, as domestic beer should, tastes just like at their brewpub in Sokcho.
Beer8’s proximity to the blossoming park meandering all the way from Hyochang to Yeonnam makes it a perfect spot to pick up some fresh beer and take to the park if you want a more premium selection than the nearby convenience stores. The atmosphere in this park is usually relaxed, with plenty of joggers and strolling families, so even though drinking alcohol in public is legal in Korea, this park is best for a laidback get-together.
